What do you want patrons of the Symphony to know about you?
I began playing cello when I was 12 years old in the music program in the Colorado Public School system.
What would you be doing if you weren’t a professional musician?
I looked into going to college for photography after spending most of high school in a dark room, but thank goodness I didn't as the digital age hit right when I would have been finishing school and my education would have been obsolete along with my dark room equipment
What do you do in your spare time (other than practice!)?
I enjoy making handmade greeting cards to send family for holidays throughout the year
What is your favorite thing about being a professional musician?
I love introducing my students to music they haven't heard before. There's nothing like playing Stravinsky's Rite of Spring for a student hearing it for the first time.
What sport(s) do you participate in?
My husband got me into fly fishing before we were married.
Do you have a favorite team?
Cincinnati Bearcats, my alma mater
What is your favorite food?
Green peas, frozen or fresh they've been my go to snack since I was a kid
Who is your favorite composer?
Benjamin Britten, I studied his music for my dissertation and had the opportunity to handle his letters and manuscripts in Aldeburgh, England
What’s currently on your Ipod?
Mostly opera, Britten and Berg to Puccini and Verdi
