What do you want patrons of Symphony to know about you?
I love to work!

What would you be doing if you weren’t a professional musician?
PR, advertising, practice law, cook…whatever I did I would be a Symphony patron.

What do you do in your spare time (other than practice!)?
Teach violin, cooking, read, yoga, Pure Barre, craft menus and cook, enter recipe contests, try to figure out how I can own my own coffee shop, anything with my husband, and try to give my two kids every opportunity possible and then some!

What is your favorite thing about being a professional musician?
There are so many…Most recently, I talked to a violin shop owner in Tucson, AZ (where my kids and I were visiting) into loaning me a violin for a couple of hours so I could go play for my Grandmother who recently went into a care facility and is 102 years old. The joy that this brought her, along with the other women living there, is one of my favorite things about being a professional musician. I also traveled with the national tour of Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast.” Seeing the joy on the children’s faces in the audience and knowing that I helped put it there is a wonderful feeling. Music brings joy to so many people from different backgrounds, of different ages, and in different ways. To be a small part of this is incredible!

What sport(s) do you participate in?
I love to swim, hike, paddle board, and waterski.

Do you have a favorite team?
I grew up a St. Louis Cardinals fan.

What is your favorite food?
Dark chocolate and earl grey; dark chocolate and lemon; dark chocolate and peanut butter, fruit

Who is your favorite composer?
Shostakovich and Mozart (it’s a tie)

What’s currently on your Ipod?
I don’t have an Ipod. The CD’s that I have in my car right now include Buena Vista Social Club, ABBA, Mozart 10 celebrated string quartets, Sting because he is my favorite and Journey because that is my kids’ favorite at the moment.
